01/08/2017: Rain Does Not Stop Play
KGV hosts first Beyond the Boundary Festival
Whilst the weather did it's best to dampen spirits the bands and fans who made it through the weekend enjoyed some great music, food and beverages, and all will be back for more!!
Friday night saw HONEST CROOKS play a blistering set in the Clubhouse Bar that had more than a few on their feet bouncing around the old place. Great band that set the weekend up nicely.
The rain on Saturday meant a rethink and so bands split between the main marquee and Clubhouse. First up Jim Dellbridge who was then joined by his fellow members of THE WAR POETS to get everyone tapping their feet and very soon jigging away in the tent.
It was then up to the Clubhouse Bar to find a space to witness the mighty FADE2GREY. No one could remember a busier night in the old bar and people were hanging onto every vantage point to witness a blast from the 80's and 90's accompanied by flashing lights and haze. Hot and sweaty the crowd only had seconds to draw breath before CARL WARD ended the night with a DJ set fromn the same era.
Sunday was just that and finally we all got outside to use the Balcony and picnic blankets. There was a more chilled feel to the day in terms of music as BLACK TOP TALES got us started followed by COUNTRY STEELE. The rain intervened briefly but this did not put off GAY ARMY who rocked the balcony with a non-stop riot of a set. Finally it was back into the bar as VRAIC GATHERERS and KISMET BLEU ended the weekend.
A HUGE thank you to all who helped make the weekend happen from Kevin Taylor and crew from Centre Stage who were trojans, to Chris and the boys at Regency Events, Pete, Craig and team on BBQ and all the bands and finally the guys at White Rock Brewery, Rocquettes and Bucktrouts who kept us all hydrated!
BTB2 will be happening next summer......WATCH THIS SPACE !!!
